The “Kalterersee-Charter” – a seal of quality for one of the most popular red wines... >
This is the newest DOC zone in South Tyrol. This zone was first recognized as a DOC cultivation area in 1995 through a decree by the Ministry of Agriculture. The wines of the Vinschgau Valley are rich in acidity and thus lively. The designation "Südtirol Vinschgau" must be supplemented by the variety designation. The "Vinschgauer" is cultivated on approximately 30 hectares (74 acres).
