The Kalterersee is like no other wine, in that it can be combined with nearly every possible dish and is the ideal wine suggestion for almost every occasion. Naturally, it goes especially well with the traditional South Tyrolean harvest meal of speck, sausage and mild cheese, but it is also ideal with numerous Mediterranean cuisine starters, pizza, grilled and boiled meats and poultry. And of course, the Kalterersee is the perfect wine for all of the tasty, savory dishes from our local kitchen. Ideally, the Kalterersee wine is best when it is young. It should be consumed cool, but not cold, and usually the year after the vintage. The drinking temperature should be between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius, which is somewhat lower than is typical for most red wines.
